This year marks the 10th anniversary of our Mission & Values in Action (MVIA) awards — Blue Shield of California's highest honor. After a rigorous selection process from 40 nominations, including 21 teams, eight individuals, six customer success individuals and five corporate citizenship individuals, we have announced our winners of the 2022 MVIA awards.

Blue Shield is committed to achieving our goal of 80% of our members opting in for paperless communication by 2025, an effort that is being led by Vivian Burgard, transformation principal of Communication Governance.

This Martin Luther King Day, our people at Blue Shield were encouraged to make their "day off a day on" by donating and/or volunteering for several events across California.

Blue Shield of California looks back on 2022 during this Month of Giving on the more than $1.1 million and 30,000+ hours of time our people donated to local communities and non-profit organizations.

We are a great place to do meaningful work both in the office and our communities. Our people volunteered and donated generously to hundreds of non-profits last year.

Mari Corbin received our Corporate Citizenship Award for being emblematic of our values at Blue Shield of California and making outstanding contributions to our California communities.
